OPTIMAL MAN FAQ

  • What symptoms are indicative of low testosterone in men?
Low sex drive or decreased libido Weak erections Lack of “morning wood” Fatigue/low energy Lack of motivation Weight gain Lack of lean muscle Depression Brain fog Not feeling like you did in your prime
  • Why an exclusively men’s clinic?
Testosterone levels generally peak in adolescence and early adulthood, with a steady decline as you age. For men, this has become “normalized”. Women’s’ hormone health and supplementation are openly discussed and accepted, as women have clear markers of menopause and the need for hormone balancing and replacement. Men on the other hand, have a steady decline in testosterone, with symptoms that are largely attributed to aging, rather than a reduction in the testosterone hormone. Men’s hormone health has everything to do with men’s vitality and living their best lives. We focus on men because we believe in the importance of educating and providing support so men can live their best lives.
  • How can low testosterone affect spousal/intimate relationships?
Remember when sex was at the top of your list, wanting it several days a week or more? Lower libido or loss of interest in sex, are primary symptoms of low testosterone. A woman often feels unattractive and less desirable when her man no longer pursues her sexually. Relationships can suffer when a man’s testosterone is low, and he no longer pursues his wife intimately or sexually. Optimal Man works with men to increase vitality in all areas, including sexual vitality.
  • What age do most men begin to benefit from TRT?
Each man is different. If you have any symptoms listed above, you may benefit from TRT. We recommend you speak with our provider to see if you are a candidate.
  • My PCP told me my testosterone level was fine, but I still have the primary symptoms of low testosterone. Why?
The American Urological Association states that clinicians should use a total testosterone level below 300 ng/dL as a reasonable cut-off in support of the diagnosis of low testosterone. However, our providers believe that men perform optimally at higher levels. If you are interested in more information, please schedule an appointment with one of our providers to discuss the benefits and risks of TRT and see if you are a candidate.
